New device? Register it first

first time

Ebony installs directly (outside the App Store), so your iPhone has to be on the E5 device list first. Tap below — it sends just this device’s ID to the E5 admin. Install the small profile when asked (Settings will open; tap Install). You’ll get the go-ahead shortly, then continue to step 2.

Register this device

Already installed Ebony before on this phone? Skip to step 2.

2

Install the app

Once the admin confirms your device is added, open this page in Safari and tap below. Confirm Install when iOS asks, and the icon lands on your Home Screen.

3

Turn on Developer Mode

one time
  1. Open Settings → Privacy & Security
  2. Scroll to the bottom → tap Developer Mode
  3. Toggle Developer Mode on → tap Restart
  4. After it reboots, unlock the phone → tap Turn On → enter your passcode

Apple requires this for any app installed outside the App Store. You only ever do it once — it stays on through restarts, iOS updates, and every future Ebony update.

4

Trust the developer

if prompted

If the first launch says “Untrusted Developer,” go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management, tap E5 ENCLAVE INCORPORATED, and tap Trust. Then open Ebony.

5

Open Ebony & sign in

On first launch, tap Sign in with Apple (fastest), or enter your email and the invite code the admin gave you. After that, Face ID keeps you signed in.

Must be opened in Safari. Direct install (no App Store) — if Install in step 2 fails with “not available,” your device isn’t added yet: finish step 1 and wait for the admin’s go-ahead.
